Jamil Coury of Aravaipa Running – Jamil dreamed of a foot race running the length of the Black Canyon Trail as soon as he heard about its existence. Running along the length of the Bradshaw Mountain Foothills on twisting fun single track, the Black Canyon Trail features expansive views of the wide open desert that just begged for an ultra distance traverse on foot. After meetings with the Black Canyon Trail Coalition and BLM, the event became a reality in 2014.

Maricopa County Emergency Communications Group provides race day communications as part of their commitment to serve public events. MCECG is about the safety of event staff, volunteers, participants, and the general public. Sometimes safety means helping to design a bicycle course that avoids unnecessary traffic hazards. Sometimes it means moving food or water to parched runners during the event. Sometimes it means keeping track of individual runners on isolated trails. And other times it means locating injured participants and getting medical aid to them quickly.
Medical for the Black Canyon 100K & 60K will be served by trained EMT’s and paramedics at our most key aid stations on race day provided by Endurance Care LLC.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line: “Black Canyon Social Media”. We are looking for a team of representatives to get live race day updates out into the world!
