Camping & Tent Rental
Tent rentals are available for relay teams for the duration of the race. Tents make a great place to stash your gear, hang out, or catch some sleep between your legs. Tents will be set up when teams arrive, and do not need to be broken down when teams leave. Large tents are available for a $60 rental fee and are big enough to stand in and fit an entire team. Small tents are $25 and generally accommodate 1-2 people.
For overnight camping outside the race, McDowell Mountain Regional Park offers 76 individual sites for tent or RV camping. Each site has a large parking area to accommodate up to a 45′ RV and is a “Developed Site,” with water and electrical hook-ups, dump station, a picnic table and a barbecue fire ring. All restrooms offer flush toilets and showers. The south loop of the campground also offers handicapped-accessible restrooms. All sites in the campground may be reserved online at maricopacountyparks.org
The course features two loops. The short loop runs along the Lousley Hills ride on the Scenic Trail, while the long loop takes the brand new, twisty and turny Escondido trail. Both will offer stunning views of the McDowell Mountains and a mesmerizing view of the course as a stream of headlamps move throughout the night. Both courses will join up partway through, returning to the start line together.
