Volunteer Driving Directions

Directions to Start Line
Javelina Jeadquarters will be located at the first right turn after the park entry gate in the area also known as the Horse Staging Area.
Javelina Jeadquarters serves as the start line, finish line, medical headquarters, crew access, and main aid station. This will be located at the Pemberton Trailhead at/near the two large ramadas (see directions above to start line). Volunteers will need to take the race provided shuttle from the Four Peaks staging lot unless they are dropping something off at Javelina Jeadquarters.

Directions to Coyote Camp Aid Station
Drive: A very rough service road leads to the Coyote Camp Aid Station from the competitive track parking lot near the front gate of the park. Driving to the aid station will be reserved to Aravaipa and Park Staff only.

Hike/Run (2.0 miles): Park in the Pemberton Trailhead lot and follow the race course along the Pemberton Trail in the clockwise direction (head south out of the parking lot) for 2.0 miles until you reach the Coyote Camp Aid Station.

Directions to Jackass Junction Aid Station
Drive: We plan to have each shift carpool in one or two vehicles and drive together out to the aid station. A high clearance vehicle (van, truck or suv) is recommended. You will be driving on the same course as the runners for about 4.0 miles, so please drive SLOW and be careful! Leave the Pemberton Trailhead on Shallmo Drive and after 0.7 miles, turn right onto McDowell Mountain Park Drive. Continue straight on McDowell Mountain Park Drive for 1.5 miles until you see a white gate on the left side of the paved road which leads to the park’s north service road. Turn left and open/close the gate behind you. After 1.3 miles on this service road, there will be a junction with the Pemberton Trail. Continue straight/right, entering onto the Pemberton Trail (which is a wide jeep road at this point). Follow the Pemberton trail for 3.4 miles to an abrupt left turn at the far north west corner of the park (park boundary). After the turn, drive 0.6 miles to the end of the jeep road at Granite Tank (just down a hill where the Pemberton Trail changes to a single track trail). It’s best to meet in the Four Peaks lot and then carpool up to check in together at Pemberton before heading out to the aid station location.

Hike/Run (6.9 miles): Park at the Pemberton Trailhead. Follow the race course along the Pemberton Trail in the counter-clockwise direction for 6.9 miles until you reach the Granite Tank Aid Station.

Directions to Rattlesnake Ranch Aid Station
Drive: Leave the Pemberton Trailhead on Shallmo Drive and after 0.7 miles, turn right onto McDowell Mountain Park Drive. Rattlesnake Ranch is located at this junction.

Hike/Run (3.0 miles): Park at the Pemberton Trailhead. Follow the race course along the Pemberton Trail in the counter-clockwise direction (head north out of the parking lot) for 3.0 miles until you reach the Coyote Camp Aid Station.
