Across The Years Day 6 – Jan 2, 2016 – The Lighter Side of Six Day running
When Six Day Runners are stuck on a 1 mile loop for 144 hours, they tend to get loopy and throw in some fun on the last day. Sure everyone is still running an ultramarathon or two on the last day, but at this point everyone is just going through the motions, continually circling this dirt course. Some position places might swap a little in last minute jockeying, but for the most part everyone continually goes around. Bill Schultz reached his 1,000th mile run at Across the Years and earned his coveted jacket.
David Johnston and Ed Ettinghausen are within a couple miles of each other at 437 and 435 miles respectively. Sarah Emoto has moved up into 3rd in the six day behind Sue Scholl and Yolanda Holder. Well done Sarah! Results standing are in the web post. As well as quite a few photos of fun on the last day on Camelback Ranch. We’re excited the end is near.
Here’s the lighter side of things that we all enjoy on the last day.
