Unique and universal
The Aravaipa Strong Global Virtual Run is in full swing. So far we have witnessed:
- Runners who have already reached their goals and are enjoying some well-earned rest! ☕
- Runner who are still getting after their distance goals. 🏃♀️
- Runners who were so inspired that they have changed their distance goals 🙌
- Beautiful shared images of nature and trails for runners who are lucky to still have access to them 🌄
- Backyards turned into racecourses ⟳
- Runners who have measured and created racecourses within their homes, including one runner who needs 50 laps of their indoor route to equal one mile and is running 100 miles 😲
- Runners who have mapped out motivational routes to spell out encouragement, like “Stay Strong” and “Be Bold.” 💪
- Runners who have taken their Strava Art game to new levels 🏆
All our experiences are wholly unique, but equally universal. Our running community has expanded across the globe and what is clear is that we are a resilient bunch. We are resourceful. We are creative. We are making lemonade with our lemons. We are staying strong.
Runners will continue to put in miles for this event until Sunday. I look forward to continuing to see all those results roll in and getting to interact with so many of you through e-mails.
The response to this event has been both heartwarming and humbling. We love our runners so much, and we love ringing cowbells loudly into the twilight, cheering everyone to their finish. Please know that all of us are continuing to cheer for every one of you.
