Colorado Springs, USA – November 12, 2024 – Aravaipa Running is thrilled to announce its acquisition of the Endurance Race Series Colorado events. These cherished races, with their roots deeply embedded in Colorado’s Front Range, have been a source of connection and inspiration under the leadership of Endurance Race Series Founder Jeff Stoner for over a decade.
With twelve memorable years of community building and trail racing excellence, Stoner has decided to step back from the Colorado race scene, entrusting Aravaipa Running with the responsibility of preserving and growing the legacy of these events.
In taking up the reins, Aravaipa Running—led by founder Jamil Coury—will assume responsibility for five distinct races that draw runners of all levels with their diverse distances and breathtaking settings. The events, including the Mountain Ridge Trail Race, Barr Lake, Westminster Trail Race, Snow Mountain Ranch Trail Festival, and Louisville Trail Race, range from 5Ks to 50Ks and offer challenges for both seasoned ultra runners and newcomers alike.
Reflecting on this transition, Stoner shared his gratitude and admiration for the Colorado trail running community:
“After 12 incredible years, it is with mixed emotions that I announce the Endurance Race Series will be stepping away from Colorado. The Colorado trail running community has been the heart of this journey—a steadfast source of inspiration, support, and friendship. From the very beginning, the community welcomed me with open arms. To every runner, volunteer, and supporter—thank you from the bottom of my heart. This community will always feel like home to me.”
Stoner also expressed confidence in Aravaipa’s ability to continue the legacy:
“As I focus on growing the Endurance Race Series in San Diego, I’m thrilled that Jamil Coury and the Aravaipa team will carry forward our Colorado events. Their dedication to creating meaningful trail experiences ensures that Colorado runners will continue to have premier races to enjoy. I look forward to supporting this transition in 2025, helping ensure a smooth handover.”
Aravaipa Running founder Jamil Coury shared his excitement about joining the Colorado trail running landscape:
“The Endurance Race Series has been a fixture in Colorado trail running for over a decade, and we’re honored to carry forward the legacy of these beloved events. We look forward to sharing the Aravaipa spirit with the Front Range community and creating new opportunities for runners to connect and challenge themselves.”
In the coming year, Aravaipa Running aims to bring its commitment to quality and community building to these events, honoring the series’ original spirit while infusing it with the energy and enthusiasm that have defined Aravaipa’s own events. Runners can look forward to the same warm, welcoming atmosphere that has made both Aravaipa and the Endurance Race Series a central part of the trail running world.
Registration for all five of these events will open on UltraSignup at 8:00am Mountain Time on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Jeff Stoner will continue to direct and operate the Endurance Race Series in the San Diego area. You can find out more about those events on the Endurance Race Series Website.
