The Sonoran Desert Cup includes seven sub ultra distance courses, split over two seasons (fall & spring). Each course handpicked to showcase some of the finest mountain running in the Valley of the Sun. Join us for the inaugural Sonoran Desert Cup by registering though the Series Pass and save or register for each event individually.

The eight races that make up the Sonoran Desert Cup are: Cave Creek Thriller, Pass Mountain, McDowell Mountain Frenzy, San Tan Scramble, Coldwater Rumble, Elephant Mountain, Mesquite Canyon. The Series Championship will take place at Dam Good Run.

Sonoran Desert Fall Cup

In order to be considered for scoring in the Fall Cup, participants must complete 2 of the 3 races. If participants complete all 3 races, their top 2 scores will be counted towards points. At the end of the Fall Cup, we will crown our Sonoran Fall Cup Men’s and Women’s Champions. Top 10 finishers of the Fall Cup will be invited to participate in the Grand Final at the 2025 Dam Good Run 26K.

Sonoran Desert Spring Cup (Top 2 Performances)

San Tan Scramble 26K
Coldwater 40K
Elephant Mountain 35K
Mesquite Canyon 30K

In order to be considered for scoring in the Spring Cup, participants must complete 2 of the 4 races. If participants complete all 4 races, their top 2 scores will be counted towards points. At the end of the Spring Cup, we will crown our Sonoran Spring Cup Men’s and Women’s Champions. Top 10 finishers of the Spring Cup will be invited to participate in the Grand Final at the 2025 Dam Good Run 26K.

Dam Good Run Championship

As stated, the Dam Good Run 26K will be host to the Sonoran Cup Grand Final where we aim to crown one true champion of the desert, our Cactus King and Queen. This race will feature a head to head battle between the top 10 Men and Women from the Fall and Spring Cups. Only those who finished in the top 10 in the Fall or Spring Cups will be eligible to be crowned our Cactus King or Queen.
