Merry Vertmas
Join us for the 5th edition of the global climbing challenge through the holiday season! We'll kick off the season with an all new Merry Vertmas for 2024.
All registered participants get a swag pack with long sleeve shirt, medal & sticker! Sign-up by October 31 to guarantee your swag pack by the start of the race.
In addition to earning milestone badges for the total amount of climbing throughout the event, you can now earn Vertcoins for participating in our daily RamDeer Games. You'll trade in your Vertcoins at the end of the challenge for raffle tickets for the chance to win prizes from Aravaipa Running, Run Steep Get High & our other partners!

Vertmas Bounty
All participants in celebrating Merry Vertmas this December will receive a race packet via mail. Runners will receive a long sleeve race shirt, a die cut sticker, and a handcrafted wooden medal designed by Aravaipa Artworx.

Earn Vert Coins as you take on daily challenges designed to keep you motivated and connected throughout the holiday season. Embrace the spirit of climbing by completing daily challenges from December 1st to December 25th. Each challenge has a specific goal, and completing them will earn you Vert Coins to redeem for prizes!
Choose Your Holiday Hustle
Participants customize their Vertmas experience by registering for one of our two Vertmas categories (called "teams" in Run Signup) below. Participants can complete their challenge on a course of their own design or on a treadmill and at a time that best fits their schedule. Track your progress on your Run Signup profile as you level up each day! Compare your results on the Vertmas leader board, and earn additional badges you can post online by completing our daily challenges!
Vert is Real
Outdoor Only: no treadmill: If you prefer to rise and grind, chart a course on your favorite mountain trail, or commit to hill repeats in your own backyard, then you believe Vert is all around us. Vert is Real is for those who prefer their holiday adventure off the treadmill!
Vert is Real
Mixed: Outdoor & Treadmill: Ready to max out your incline? If the weather outside is frightful, climbing indoors can be...well still frightful but at least it's temp controlled! Virtual Vert mixes both indoor and outdoor gain. How will you mix it up this season?
Level Up & Sleigh
Sleigh all day and keep climbing toward the next level! Participants have 25 days to get as much vertical gain as they can. Keep track of your vert on our Vertmas Leaderboard and earn badges as you reach each level! How far will you go?
